HOW TO PAINT SHEEP WITH LIGHT AND TEXTURE with Suzanne Barrett Justis

HOW TO PAINT SHEEP WITH LIGHT AND TEXTURE with Suzanne Barrett Justis In this step by step, time lapsed painting tutorial, I will not only show you how to paint sheep in an early sunrise landscape, but I will show you how to paint sheep with light and texture, step by step using cold wax medium in oils. I will start with the bright yellow background and wipe out my composition. After creating the “feels“ of painting the sunrise using warm soft colors, I will block in the sheep. You will learn how to paint fur, or in this case, wool by layering the cold wax mixed paint to create the impasto texture of wool. You will also learn how to create texture in the grasses using cold wax, palette knife and a dagger brush. If you haven’t used Cold Wax medium, you should give it a try. The Cold Wax medium lends a luminosity and translucent quality with a more mat finish to this impasto painting technique. Follow or paint along and learn my painting process of this original artwork.
