Norshen (Armenian: Նորշեն) is in Artsakh’s Martuni Region. It became a bordering village after the recent war too. Here we met a civilian POW (Prisoner of War) from the first war in the 90s who told us about the tortures he and his friends endured and how the horrors of that don’t leave them, how after the torture for days from Azeris hands they wanted to get rid of them and were planning to either sell them in a slave market or throw their bodies into a river. Then another Azeri civilian offered to buy one of them to perform a human sacrifice. Luckily they all survived the tortures and were eventually exchanged.
