Aerial China:China’s narrowest county Yanjin County, Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province

Yanjin County is part of Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province. Located in the northeastern part of Yunnan Province, between 103˚59´18˝~104˚27´50˝ east longitude and 27˚49´11˝~28˚24´38˝ north latitude. It is named after it once owned a salt well to produce salt and set up a ferry to pass the flood. In ancient times, it was the residence of the Bo people. Xia, Shang and Wednesday belonged to the Liangzhou region, and later changed its affiliation. Kaibian County was established in 587 AD, where the administrative office is now located in the market town of Tantou Township. In 1727, it was changed to local government, and Yanjin belonged to the Great Pass of Wumeng Mansion. In 1917, the county was formally established and named Yanjin.
