Then, in the quarterfinals, they beat CSKA Moscow 2-0 on aggregate, sealing their place in the semifinals. The semi-finals brought a huge challenge as Inter Milan had to face off against the defending champions, Barcelona. In a very tense match, Inter Milan managed to win 3-1 in the first leg at San Siro. Despite losing 1-0 in the second leg at Camp Nou, Inter Milan qualified for the final with an aggregate advantage, thanks to the away goals rule. The 2009-2010 UEFA Champions League final pitted Inter Milan against Bayern Munich at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid on May 22, 2010. Inter Milan won the match 2-0, thanks to two goals from Diego Milito. The first goal came in the 35th minute, when Milito finished off a through ball from Wesley Sneijder. The second goal came in the second half, when Milito again showed his skill by outwitting a Bayern Munich defender before firing a shot into the far post. The win not only gave Inter Milan the third Champions League title in the club’s history but also completed their treble winners that season, having previously won Serie A and the Coppa Italia. It was an unprecedented achievement for an Italian club and marked one of the most glorious moments in Inter Milan’s history. #uefa #intermilan #roadtovictory
