Roland Dyens - Berimbau by Baden Powell (1947 Bouchet)

Guitar: 1947 Robert Bouchet () We are all deeply saddened by the untimely death of Maestro Roland Dyens. Here he is playing the piece he liked to close his concerts with - his arrangement of Baden Powell’s Berimbau. This seems a fitting tribute to the man who did so very much for the classical guitar as composer, arranger and guitarist. He will be missed. For this piece Dyens plays a 1947 Robert Bouchet that was the 2nd guitar Bouchet ever built and the first he ever sold (he had made the first for himself and kept it). Recorded live at the Guitar Salon International showroom in Santa Monica, CA. Huge thanks to the folks at AEA () for the use of their N8 and N22 ribbon active microphones in these recordings.
