Drunk driver jumps from moving car to avoid DUI

You know those things that seem like a really good idea when you’re drunk, but are actually not that smart? This is one of those things. A driver in Petrozavodsk, Russia saw that he was approaching a police car, so he did what any of us would do – he opened the door and calmly exited the vehicle. The only problem was that the car was still moving, and normally people stop their cars before getting out. Having not previously noticed the man, the police decided they should maybe investigate this unusual move. In a twist that absolutely everyone will have seen coming, the man was drunk, and had jumped out of the car to avoid getting a DUI. After all, he can’t be drunk driving if he isn’t driving, right? This plan did not work, and the man was arrested, but at least the car stopped in a nice convenient location, right next to the police.
