This is my childhood in a bowl! Okayu is Rice Porridge and a common japanese Dish, it’s easy to make and delicious. Recipe: classic japanese Okayu: -80g Sushi Rice (short grain rice) -750ml Water princess mononoke version: -1-2 tbsp dark Miso Paste -Scallions -pinch of salt -Optional Toppings for Okayu: -Scrambled eggs -Sweet Potatoes -Salmon -Umeboshi -Sesame -Sweet Stuff -I ate my second bowl with applesauce and cinnamon, that was awesome haha! 1. Wash your Rice until the water becomes almost clear. Put rice and water in a pot. Cook on medium heat. 2. When it boils, stir a view times and reduce the heat to low. Partially cover with a lid and cook at low heat for 30-40 minutes. 3. The last 5-10 minutes, add Miso Paste and Scallions, mix slowly until the Miso Paste dissolved.
