Israeli army implements lockdown in Hebron city centre to clear way for settlers

Israeli settlers, under protection from the army, stormed the neighbourhood of Bab al-Zawiya in the old city of Hebron on Thursday. The army implemented a lockdown in the city centre closing more than 200 shops in the central market and preventing Palestinians from reaching their homes. The lockdown was implemented by Israeli forces to make way for settlers to head to “Hebron tomb“, which Jews believe to be located in the basement of a Palestinian’s home on Bir Seba Street, to commemorate the demolition of the temple.
