Following mother’s footsteps. Location of events unknown. Music hall performer’s baby daughter is given her own performance contract. Title frame: following mother’s footsteps. The baby daughter of May Moore Duprez is under contract to appear at a west end hall in 1936. CU contract (legal document on long paper; print too small to read; though the heading; right at the top edge of the screen; is sometimes visible and says —-?----theatres of varieties; limited.) Baby sitting in a chair with flowered cover; on a dark patterned carpet; doll sits in box on floor; woman’s arm is reaching from left and touching chair. The woman puts her hand behind baby’s back and apparently pats or jiggles her; because baby starts bouncing in the chair. It almost looks like baby gets pushed out of the chair - or at least nudged - but at any rate she slides down; teeters on her legs; looks down at doll and starts to reach for it. But mum directs her attention back to the camera. Baby stares at camera; balancing unsteadily.
