This Japanese Garden Immerses You in the Beauty of Changing Seasons

Located in Tokyo’s west, this unique home shares a communal garden between two families. The homes were designed to connect with the garden, with the alleyway between them to provide space for play and enjoyment. Garden designer Keisuke Suzuki of Soil Green 4 created a natural, low-maintenance landscape with differing planting spaces, emphasising the changing seasons. The terraces feature evergreens in movable pots for winter greenery, while the end of the alley highlights rich autumn colours. The roadside showcases deciduous trees to enhance the seasonal ambience of the neighbourhood. The garden aims to connect the families seamlessly with nature, allowing them to savour the seasons intimately and cherish their time spent amid the greenery.
