Lumnos / Abstract Void - A Glitching Reality (full split, 2023)

It’s Saturday, and my day to break all my own rules to feature something outside the oppressive shadow of black metal….though in this case, a little echo of tremolo remains, haunting the otherwise neonscape futurism of this collaboration. Putrefactus (B. F.) joins up with Abstract Void (B.M. of many projects including Skyforest, A Light in the Dark, Blurry Lights) to take his Lumnos project in a new direction of blackened synthwave, experimenting with electronica and ambient to create a new style of black metal. With influences that include from Aphex Twin, Brian Eno, Kraftwerk to Atmospheric Black Metal classics such as Elderwind, Mesarthim, and the aforementioned B.M. bands, it makes sense to see the two together on this split – with some inspired covers that further define the references they are both drawing from in their individual journeys into the neon lights. This ep comes ahead of Abstract Void’s second full length album, which is getting a full release on vinyl, cassette and CD through Flowing Downward. All formats are up for pre-order now, with two advance tracks: And Lumnos put out a stellar full length of cosmopheric black metal back in October, also through Flowing Downward in CD and digital formats: Band: Lumnos / Abstract Void Album: A Glitching Reality Year: 2023 Label: Self-Released Country: Brazil / Russia Genre: Blackened Synthwave Transmissions links: Album: Tracklist: 1.
