The Carpenters frolic in the snow at Squaw Valley, California, and at the Quebec Winter Carnival in Canada, during an upbeat medley of “The First Snowfall“ & “Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow.“ This mix from the CD “Christmas With The Carpenters“ (1992). Also available on “Christmas Collection“ (1996). First released in 1978 on the “Christmas Portrait“ vinyl record album. This medley is a remake of a very similar track from the 1956 holiday album, “Spike Jones Presents a Christmas Spectacular.“ Richard Carpenter has cited Spike Jones as a musical influence, and he & Karen grew up listening to Spike’s music in the Carpenter home. Arranged by Peter Knight. “The First Snowfall“ written by Joseph F. Burke & Paul Francis Webster. “Let It Snow“ written by Sammy Cahn & Jule Styne.
