The United Nations’ refugee agency for Palestinians (UNRWA) has said it will not be able to continue its work in Gaza beyond next month if funding, which has been halted by allegations that UN staff were involved in October’s attack by Hamas on Israel, does not resume. Austria and Japan have joined a growing list of nations halting payments to UNRWA in the past 24 hours, after Israeli claims that UN employees took part in the atrocities committed by Hamas on October 7, in which 1,200 people were killed and 250 others taken hostage.
