Visiting a Salvaged 17th Century Warship - Vasa Museum & Djurgården Tour in Stockholm, Sweden

Welcome to the Vasa Museum, located in Stockholm, Sweden. More specifically, you can find this place on the island of Djurgården. The Vasa was a Swedish warship that, after two years of construction, sank on its maiden voyage in 1628. You’ll see the ship itself in full display as you enter, which was dredged up from the harbors around Stockholm. Almost fully intact, this warship is certainly impressive to see in person should you have doubts about visiting this museum during your visit to Stockholm. Along with the ship itself, you’ll be able to view various other objects recovered from the wreckage as well as a myriad of films and dioramas depicting the ship’s construction, fateful sailing, and salvage. If you’re thinking about visiting, know that several tours and shore excursions offer a guided trip to the museum, but it is questionable whether you need to pay that premium. Audio guides are available through the museum and tickets for entry were about $30 for two adults. Ki
