Russia launches volley of hypersonic missiles on Ukraine

Ukraine said on Tuesday it had shot down six Russian hypersonic Kinzhal missiles in a single night, thwarting a superweapon Moscow had previously touted as all but unstoppable. Flashes and explosions were seen over Kyiv’s skyline during Russia’s exceptionally intense air raid. Meanwhile, Russia’s defence ministry said it had destroyed a Patriot surface-to-air missile defence system with a hypersonic Kinzhal missile in the overnight strike on Ukraine.
