How Gen Z sees the world: Will AI’s development lead to loss of jobs?

Recently, Sora, OpenAI’s text-to-video artificial intelligence model, has caused a sensation in various industries worldwide, including the filmmaking sector. Sora can convert text instructions into a minute-long high-definition video. According to OpenAI’s official introduction, Sora can not only generate complex scenes with multiple characters, specific types of motions, and precise theme and background details, but also generate animations based on still images to extend existing videos and maintain visual style consistency. While AI has made major breakthroughs, the problems it causes cannot be ignored, such as the recent spread of fake Taylor Swift shopping ads on social media and AI deep fakes of Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar. Siwei Lyu, a computer science professor at the University of Buffalo’s Media Forensics Lab, said in an interview with The New York Times that this kind of forgery is likely to have been produced using text-to-speech services. Such tools can transform scripts into sounds and synthesize them into video clips using a lip-syncing program. To gather opinions from generation Z, CGTN talks with students from around the globe.
