Lights on kites (and lights elsewhere)

My 1,737th kite video. I don’t usually fly kites at night, although I’ve long owned two of them fitted with lights, because it’s actually illegal here in New Zealand. There seems to be little logic for this, as flying something with lights advertising its presence can hardly be dangerous, but a zealous police officer who knows the law might decide to take action, so I am taking a risk by flying. This time I decided it was worthwhile in order to try out the new lighting set made by my son Paul, so he and his brother Mike accompanied me to the beach to give it a go. Anyone wanting to check out all my “How to...“ videos on various aspects of kite-flying can now find them all easily on my Playlist at .
