’God Save the Tsar!“ was the anthem of the Russian Empire from 1833-1917. Lyrics by Vasily Zhukovsky and music by Alexei Lvov. Russian America was the parts of North America that the Russian Empire held, which included Alaska, the western shores of Canada, and parts of Washington state, Oregon, Northern California, and Hawaii. The Capital was New Archangle (present day Sikta) in Alaska. Russia held this area from the late 1700s until they sold Alaska to the United States in 1867.
