It was intended to be shown in elementary schools, so as to reduce the stress affiliated with a child’s first dental exam . The main character’s name is Linda and she appears (:26) playing a game of tug of war with her dog. Mother and daughter arrive at the dentist’s office in a yellow station wagon (1:11). Upon entering the waiting room the receptionist checks the young girl in for her appointment (1:47). The dental hygienist enters to speak with the new patient (1:59). In the waiting area, toys are set out to entertain the children as they await their appointment (2:23). The dental assistant then calls for Linda for her appointment (2:36). Linda sits in the chair (3:08) as the X-ray machine is brought in close in order to photograph the girl’s mouth (3:29). The dentist then goes over the images captured (4:05). The light is adjusted so the dentist can better inspect Linda’s teeth (4:47). The dentist takes the time to show the tools he is to use on her during the appointment (5:21). The dentist begins to clean Linda’s teeth (5:50) and notes the jelly which will be used to protect her teeth (5:58). He shows Linda the best methods with which to clean her teeth (6:13).
