World Food Day 2023: Video message by FAO Director-General

Each year, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) celebrates World Food Day on 16 October to commemorate is founding in 1945. Collective action across 150 countries is what makes World Food Day one of the most celebrated days of the United Nations’ calendar. Hundreds of events and outreach activities bring together governments, businesses, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), the media, and general public. They promote worldwide awareness and action for those who suffer from hunger and for the need to ensure healthy diets for all.   #WorldFoodDay 2023 shines a spotlight on water as the foundation for life and food. The campaign raises awareness worldwide about the importance of managing water wisely, because the availability of this precious resource is threatened by rapid population growth, urbanization, economic development, and climate change. It’s time to work together and create a better, more sustainable future for all. Subscribe!
