In this battle approximately 1,000 Russian troops defended a fort in todays Poland from 7,000 German Soldiers who unfortunately used chlorine gas against the Russian defenders. Out of extreme courage and willingness to fight for their country, the 100 survivors, the only Russian Soldiers left after being gassed conducted a counter attack. The sight of these “Dead Men“ walking and coming at them sent the Germans running enabling the Russian’s to get reinforcements and re-group.
