Aurora, Giving In To The Love (live), San Francisco, May 17, 2022 (4K)

Aurora plays her song “Giving In To The Love“ live in concert at The Warfield Theatre in San Francisco, California on May 17, 2022. Giving In To The Love was released as a single in October 2021 and then appeared on Aurora’s third studio album, The Gods We Can Touch (2022). She said this about the song: “I was thinking about Prometheus, and how he stole the fire to sculpt us – the humans. I feel like we sometimes forget that we are living creatures, capable of so many beautiful things. And [our] current obsession with beauty makes us forget and devalue the fire that rests within us. Our inner self, and most important part.” Aurora Aksnes is an award-winning Norwegian singer-songwriter who grew up in Os, Norway and now lives in Bergen. Joining her onstage were Fredrik Svabø (guitar), Magnus Skylstad (drums), Njål Paulsberg (keyboards), and Amalie Holt Kleive (backing vocals). ============= Giving In To The Love lyrics: I’m losing my connection I’m tired of the rules and your corrections I want to live my life, be all of its pages And underline that I am not an angel ’Cause if I’m not pure, I guess that I’m too much I never know how to keep in, keep in touch If I’ll be somebody, I’ll never let my skin decide it for me I never had the world, so why change for it? I never had the world, so why change for it? Giving in to the love Giving in to the love Giving in to the love, the love, the love, the love Someone out there is trying To find somebody whole, who is not dying But everybody cries and nobody comforts The television lies and now my mind hurts And if I’m not loved, I guess that I am cursed I gotta know how to beat it, beat it first If I’ll be somebody, I’ll never let my skin decide it for me I never had the world, so why change for it? I never had the world, so why change for it? Giving in to the love Giving in to the love Giving in to the love, the love, the love, the love, the love Giving in to the love Giving in to the love Giving in to the love, the love, the love, the love Written by Aurora Aksnes / Magnus Skylstad ============== Aurora - The Gods We Can Touch live tour dates (2022): May 15 - Seattle, WA @ Showbox SoDo May 17 - San Francisco, CA @ The Warfield Theatre May 19 - Los Angeles, CA @ The Greek Theatre May 20 - San Diego, CA @ The Observatory North Park May 21 - Las Vegas, NV @ Brooklyn Bowl May 23 - Englewood, CO @ Gothic Theatre May 25 - Minneapolis, MN @ The Fillmore May 27 - Chicago, IL @ Riviera Theatre May 28 - Detroit, MI @ Majestic Theatre May 29 - Toronto, ON @ History May 31 - Montreal, QC @ Mtelus June 1 - Boston, MA @ Roadrunner June 2 - Philadelphia, PA @ Union Transfer June 4 - New York, NY @ SummerStage in Central Park June 5 - Washington, DC @ Lincoln Theatre June 16 - Bergen, Norway @ Bergenfest June 18 - Scheessel, Germany @ Hurricane Festival June 19 - Neuhausen ob Eck, Germany @ Southside Festival June 21 - Berlin, Germany @ Tempodrom June 22 - Prague, Czech Republic @ Forum Karlin ============= Aurora official bio: “Every time I make an album I feel like I know why I’m here,” smiles beloved-to-millions singer, songwriter, unexpected TikTok sensation and omnipresent pop enigma Aurora. “There are so many dark forces roaming around the earth but music can be such a beam of light if you allow it to be.” In a world so beautifully overrun by multifaceted pop artists, Aurora leads the pack. Admired by many of her peers—from Billie Eilish, Troye Sivan and Doja Cat to Katy Perry and Shawn Mendes—there’s a strong case to be made for Aurora being your favourite popstar’s favourite popstar. You know Aurora, even if you don’t know Aurora. So yes, that was Aurora’s face beaming out into the darkness during the Chemical Brothers’ 2019 Glastonbury headline slot, but yes that was also Aurora’s voice on 2015’s John Lewis Christmas ad. There she was at the 2020 Oscars, performing her contribution to Frozen 2’s pivotal track Into The Unknown, but there she also was at Coachella and at Lollapalooza, and across all those US talkshows, and that’s her music on millions of TikToks and, well, you get the idea. “I suppose I am a diverse human being,” she laughs. “But then, I think all people are, deep down. I just do what I want. I’m like an animal sometimes. To be honest most of the time I relate to the animals more than humans.” Aurora’s success happened quite by accident. When a local performance was posted online Aurora, still just 15 years old, was tracked down by an impressed manager, who asked if she wanted to be an artist. Her response was instant: no. “I didn’t see any point in becoming an artist; that’s not that was driving me,” she remembers. But when she realised she could become an artist without jettisoning her individuality or her strength of spirit, that no turned into a yes. And since 2015 that yes has turned into platinum discs, a million album sales and a billion streams. ======= Typo catcher: Aurura, Arora, Giving Into Love, Give Into The Love
