Wildfires bring devastation to Attica

A series of wildfires raged through the Attica region in Greece damaging thousands of acres of countryside. According to the mayor of Lavreotiki, more than 12,000 hectares were engulfed by the fire that started Monday night prompting authorities to evacuate hundreds of residents, while over 200 firefighters and 65 vehicles were battling the blaze.
