Not to be confused with the prominent 1990s American indie rock band of the same name, Home is an unfairly obscure British band that made a few masterly records in the early ’70s behind the adept double leads of guitarists Mike Stubbs and Laurie Wisefield. This two-for-one disc collects both of their best records--PAUSE FOR A HOARSE HORSE and HOME--in one place with remastered sound. The former delicately balances sober post-psych and proto-prog with simultaneously expansive and measured songs, while the latter adds bits of country-rock’s twang and harmony.
Much underrated British progressive rock band from the early seventies who produced a total of three albums of well-written songs with elegant mood swings underpinned by highly competent musicianship. The band’s star, guitarist Laurie Wisefield who went onto Wishbone Ash is heard to great effect across the band’s first two albums presented here.
