A gentleman farmer named Mr. Walsingham had purchased a farm which initially appeared a very good investment. For a few months after moving in, his family had lived there peaceably, until the sudden emergence of unexplained NOISES, which immediately made their sleep impossible. Furniture was overturned, and their doorbell rung loudly and incessantly.
