Hurricane Fiona is now a Category 3 storm. The first hurricane of the 2022 season caused heavy flooding in Puerto Rico and carries wind gusts of 115 miles per hour. US Representatives Liz Cheney and Zoe Lofgren, both members of the Jan. 6 committee, will introduce a bipartisan House electoral reform bill that would change a 135-year-old law governing the electoral vote count to decide presidential elections. A Texas sheriff announced on Monday he is opening a criminal investigation into Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis flying 48 migrants from San Antonio to Martha’s Vineyard. Democrats are likening DeSantis’ actions to human trafficking. And, Iranian protesters in the streets of Tehran are demanding an investigation into the death of a young woman who was allegedly killed by government security forces for wearing clothes that violated the country’s dress code.
