Beer Can Jerk Chicken. Cooking in a Plant Pot. 3 Ingredient Tag Challenge.

In this video, I am doing a bit more back yard cooking in my Baker tent. I was tagged by Camplife Bushcraft and Kent Survival to take part in a three ingredient, open fire cooking challenge and this is my effort - Beer can jerk chicken. Originally invented to roast a whole chicken over a barbecue, beer can chicken chicken is a clever way of cooking, using steam from a can of beer, a lid to trap in the heat and direct heat from below to ensure an all round heat. I have gone down a slightly different route, using an open campfire and making the most of a common garden item - the plant pot! The chicken came out perfectly, cooked through and no burning (which makes a change for me!). It remained tender and juicy and took the same time as it would in a conventional oven in your kitchen - 1hr 15minutes. This is a great fun to way to cook outside without having to buy expensive, specialist equipment. Perfect for garden lockdown cookouts! I hope you are all well during these ongoing troubled times, hopefully things will return to normal soon! Stay safe and take care.
