They say promotion through the play-offs is the best way to do it. But it was right that the £90 million match should take almost all its 90 minutes to be settled; indeed, Blackpool brought the best of the guile to cautious proceedings. But as the reaction to Ricardo Vaz Te’s 87th-minute winner made the bronze statue of Bobby Moore, West Ham’s most famous son, rock on its foundations outside Wembley, it felt like the right result.
