Naval Barracks AKA Christmas Dinner And Rum In Navy (1914)

Naval barracks. Location of events unknown. World War One. Military; holidays. Christmas in the Royal Navy barracks: sailors get ration of rum and a traditional Christmas dinner. Navy chefs moving pans around; etc. Issue of Christmas rum is distributed. One guy pumps rum out of a faucet into a bucket; as a bunch of other men stand watching. Men come up with buckets and have rum dipped out of a large container. CUs of the procedure: 3 large dips go to each representative; then about a cup is taken back. Christmas dinner. Some of this is so dark one can’t see everything. Shot of long table with plates. Sailors sit; start eating. All lift cups at once; in a quick toast; and drink. Pan along sailors eating meal.
