Sevastopol Crimea Celebrates 7 Years With Russia

Sevastopol is the biggest city in Crimea and port on the Black Sea. Since the referendum in 2014, Sevastopol has been administered as a federal city of the Russian Federation as it was from 1993-1997(1997-2014 was leased from Ukraine). Ukraine and most other countries do not recognize Crimea as part of Russia The city has mostly a Russian population, with a minority of Ukrainians. It has been 7 years since there was a controversial referendum in the peninsula of Crimea where the local population voted to break away from Ukraine and join Russia. The west has called the Referendum a shame and not recognized that Crimea is part of Russia by claiming it was an annexation.
