Captured Italian Airmen (1941)

Title reads: “Captured Italian Airmen“. Location of events unknown, probably South Africa. Various shots of Italian prisoners of war in a British prison camp. They are airmen, captured by South African troops. Various shots of the men strolling, reading newspapers, playing draughts and dominoes and learning English from a text book. Atmosphere is happy and relaxed - although this maybe a show for the camera. Narrator comments: “The prisoners spend their time almost in holiday mood. A British Prison camp is decidedly more pleasant then being booted around by their Nazi bosses“. Note: good example of morale boosting war propaganda. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
