The Living Statue (1928)

L/S of a large straight tree trunk. Camera tilts up to show the full height of the tree. C/U of the boots of a man standing on a large log. M/S of the man attaching a safety harness to his waist. He begins to climb up the side of the tree. He goes up it pretty fast. Various shots of him climbing up. Once he gets to the top he starts chopping into the bark with some sort of small axe. Branches fall down from the top of the tree. A large part of the top of the tree falls off after he has chopped through it - looks pretty dangerous! Lumberjack stands on the very top of the tree - no branches left! He waves his arms - very proud of himself! Was an item in Pathe Pictorial issue number 560. Safety print only.
