Spring Botanical Series: Dogwood Cookie

Hi! I’m back with the second video in my spring botanical series, and I’m making my favorite flowering tree of all – the dogwood. I love the elegant simplicity of the flower and the graceful arc of its ruddy brown-grey branches as it begins to flower each spring. To pay tribute to this fave springtime floral, I hand-pipe every single petal, center, leaf, and branch, and then hand-shape and individually airbrush each piece, before putting all of them together on an airbrushed and stenciled cookie. Indeed, this cookie is a labor of love, much like the snowdrops, which were the first in this series. However, it’s so rewarding to see the dogwood flowers finally take shape, and all of the detailed piping involved is a great way to practice piping techniques!
