Guru Pali Chandra’s Kathak depiction of Gita Govinda’s Sancharad Adhara (Rase Harimiha).The 5th Prabandha of Jayadeva’s masterpiece focuses on Radha’s deep devotion towards Lord Krishna. Her vivid retelling of his magnificent form is the crux of this entire Prabandha, and Guru uses Kathak to showcase the nuances of Radha’s timeless love. This includes detailed descriptions of the bamboo flute on his lips, ear studs, peacock plumes, jewels upon his person, a sandal spot on his forehead, majestic yellow robes and many details that signify her passion.
