Prof. Wolfff - Prof. Wolfff 1972 (Germany, Krautrock, Heavy Prog) Founded in Ulm, Germany in 1971 - Dissolved in 1972 - Reunited as Prof. Wolfff Ensemble / Prof. Wolfff III, dividing definitively in 1982 PROF. WOLFFF Unfortunately, it only produced one album. With letters in German. Combined blues, folk and psychedelia, krautrock. The first formation consisted of Klaus-Peter ’KP’ Schweitzer (guitar, piano, vocals), who basically managed the composition, Rolf-Michael ’Romi’ Schickle (organ), Detlev ’Mondo’ Zech (bass), Michael ’Sam’ Sametinger (drums, percussion) and Friedrich ’Fritz’ Herrmann (guitar, vocals, harmonica). Where does the band’s obscure name come from? One of several possibilities: Schweitzer was sitting in a cafe and asking the waitress for the name of an unrefined man. The answer was: “Prof. Wolfff“ and he decided to use it. PROF. WOLFFF recorded their self-titled album in October 1971 at the Jankowsky studio, Stuttgart. It was produced by Jonas Porst, from IHRE KINDER. Raw guitars and a focus on keyboards add some weight. On the other hand, you can find two folk songs with choral vocals, as well as classic motifs that are making this album unique as a whole. The only album of Ulm (Ulm, land Baden-Wurttemberg). Album was recorded at Jankowsky Studio, Stuttgart, Producer Jonas Porst (Ihre Kinder), was released on Metronome after the dissolution of the group in May 1972.
