How To Eat Your Mate (HUNGRY BEAST)

Every couple of weeks you’ll find a story in the press about some crazy Austrian or Russian that has opted to cannibalise their victim. Most recently as last week, it was reported that a Chinese cannibal allegedly killed an 11-year-old boy and ate his brain in order to cure his epilepsy (). Eating someone has not always been an act of pleasure though. Eating human flesh has dotted our history in cases where it was a last desperate act of survival. Our own Alexander Pearce ate 6 men in the early 1800s on the run as an escaped convict in Tasmania. The most famous example was in the early 70s when a Uruguayan rugby team and their families were forced to eat their dead companions in order to survive a plane crash over the Andes. But for all this talk of cannibalism, if you were to be in a situation where you needed to eat human to survive, where would you start? Kirk Docker takes you through the process.
