IDF shows tunnel ’under UN agency HQ’ in Gaza The Israeli military says it has discovered a Hamas tunnel underneath the evacuated headquarters of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) in Gaza City, alleging that Hamas militants used the space as an electrical supply room. IDF officials claim the tunnels are apparent evidence of Hamas’ infiltration of UNRWA - despite the agency vacating the premises five days after Israel’s campaign was launched last October. Western journalists invited to tour the tunnel were unable to use geolocation to confirm they were in fact below the UNRWA HQ building, and were forbidden from publishing any unapproved footage or images.
