Remembering Tommy Hawkins

The NBA Family mourns the loss of Tommy Hawkins, the first African-American to earn All-America honors at Notre Dame. Hawkins, who still ranks at the top of the Fighting Irish career rebounding list, was drafted third overall by Minneapolis in 1959 and went on to have a 10 year NBA career with the Lakers and the Cincinnati Royals.
