“March of the Kornilovsky Regiment“ — English subs and translation

White Movement (Russian Civil War), 1918 Donate & Support: The battle song of the Kornilovsky Shock Regiment (later the Kornilov Shock Division and in general all “Kornilovite” formations of the White Guard) was composed in 1918 by ensign Aleksandr Krivoshejev. Captain Ignat’jev conducted music for it based on the Serbian folk song “Who loves his homeland“. Kornilovite veterans themselves called it an “anthem-March“ for its special solemnity and recalled many various versions of the lyrics, including more “Republican“ ones (Kornilovites to the most extent supported the ideals of the February Revolution and many of them not were seen in monarchical sympathies). It also became one of the reasons of our unwillingness to put General Kornilov himself on a portrait for this song, because he was a participant of arrest of an Imperial family.
