Billie The Budger (1931)

New Jersey, United States of America. “Billie has four legs, but is guaranteed to budge anything. And don’t the kiddies love it!“ Large crowd of people watch a comedy show in the open air. A horse is teased by two men who jump on its back, force it to sit down, hit it, pull its tail and generally manhandle it. Seems rather cruel but the crowd seem to like it. The men are quite acrobatic and throw themselves around the horse and make it look as if the horse is throwing them off. The horse bucks and tries to get away from the men. It is a kind of comedy rodeo act. The horse tries to bite the men - no wonder! There is a large sign which reads: Daddy Moore May Day Festival - A. Harry Moore. Lincoln Park - Jersey City, N.J. - May 23 1931. Note: item length includes opening title sequence. Sequence features the words “Pathe Pictorial - Puts the World Before You“ over a shot of the River Thames with Tower Bridge in the background. Intertitle follows which reads: “Recorded by .
