The Mariinsky Ballet is preparing a new premiere: The Pharaoh’s Daughter staged by Alexei Ratmansky based on the choreography of Marius Petipa. The Pharaoh’s Daughter, or La Fille du pharaon, was Marius Petipa’s first substantial success as a choreographer for the Imperial Theatre in St. Petersburg. Now the title remains to the Mariinsky repetoire after a great pause.
