This is how I have adapted the lattice stitch to have a black lattice over a coloured base to look like stained glass window panels. In this video I have used the pattern in a mug cosy with a solid base. It is a long video but it takes you right to the finish of the mug cosy. You can learn the stitch variation before the end of the video.
