Renata Tebaldi Tribute With Chiara Taigi

Paolo Limiti hosts an 80th birthday tribute to legendary Italian soprano Renata Tebaldi on February 4, 2002. This would be her final television appearance. Musical excerpt is “Dein ist mein ganzes Herz“ (variously translated into English as “Yours is My Heart Alone,“ “You Are My Heart’s Delight,“ or “My Heart Is Yours“) from “Das Land des Lächelns“ (“The Land of Smiles“) by Hungarian composer Franz Lehar and lyricists Fritz Löhner-Beda and Ludwig Herzer. It’s performed here by soprano Chiara Taigi. The song was originally written in 1923 for tenor Richard Tauber to perform, and since then has been covered by a wide assortment of artists associated with various genres of music.
