Guide Dog For A Dog (1968)

Tunbridge Wells, Kent. M/S of a blind spaniel dog called Minky sitting in a chair at his home; a man beckons him and walks off. An Alsatian dog called Simba appears and tugs Minky’s ear, then barks. Simba gets Minky to follow him down the stairs; at the foot of the stairs Simba opens the door with his paws and Minky follows him out. Commentator explains that when Minky went blind, Simba just took over, helping the spaniel around the house. The two dogs are seen in a car with the man; they drive into the countryside, then Simba helps Minky out by giving him a tug on the scruff of his neck. The dogs scamper after the man along a country path. Note: brief notes on file say the dogs lived with a Mrs Bidlake in Thackeray’s House. Cuts exist - see separate record.
