Dassault Mirage IIIE

The Mirage IIIE multirole/strike variant, considerably differed from the earlier Mirage IIIC interceptor. Mirage IIIEs were fitted with a British-built Marconi continuous-wave Doppler navigation radar radome on the bottom of the fuselage, underneath the cockpit; Thomson-CSF Cyrano II dual mode air / ground radar; a radar warning receiver (RWR) system with the antennas mounted in the vertical tailplane; and an Atar 09C engine On 5 April 1961, the first of a batch of three prototypes performed its first flight.
