Dassault Mirage IIIE

The Mirage IIIE multirole/strike variant, considerably differed from the earlier Mirage IIIC interceptor. Mirage IIIEs were fitted with a British-built Marconi continuous-wave Doppler navigation radar radome on the bottom of the fuselage, underneath the cockpit; Thomson-CSF Cyrano II dual mode air / ground radar; a radar warning receiver (RWR) system with the antennas mounted in the vertical tailplane; and an Atar 09C engine On 5 April 1961, the first of a batch of three prototypes performed its first flight. On 14 January 1964, the first production Mirage IIIE was delivered to the French Air Force, 192 aircraft were eventually delivered to that service. #Mirage_IIIE footages from Dassault Aviation
