Duke of Kent Hands Over MAJOR Role to Prince Edward

This was the incredible farewell the Duke of Kent received as he made his final visit as Colonel of the Scots Guards today. Edward, Queen Elizabeth II’s cousin, held the title for a remarkable 50 years, making him the longest-serving person in the role. He officially stepped down after attending his final Scots Guards Black Sunday parade in Westminster. The 88-year-old will be replaced as the head of the regiment by the Duke of Edinburgh. The Duke of Kent said he was “delighted” that Prince Edward will continue to “champion all that you do and work towards preserving your great legacy”.
