Israeli forces detained 13-year-old Ammar and his friends

Israeli forces detained 13-year-old Ammar A., from Ya’bad in the northern occupied West Bank, and his friends while they were out on a walk in a nearby agricultural area. The two Israeli soldiers beat Ammar with a large olive branch and fired a rubber-coated metal bullet at his back. Israeli forces detained and harassed the boys for three days. Each year, Israeli forces detain, arrest, prosecute, and imprison 500-700 Palestinian children in a military detention system that systematically violates Palestinian children’s rights to a fair trial.
