Table Tennis Squash (1959)

London. L/S of a high ceiling room with a table in the middle. A couple comes into the picture. They come to the table, lift the top (table was ’folded’ in half) and lift a barricade in the middle so the angle is cut off. This forms ’table tennis squash’ which one can play on its own as well as with another person. Man takes a racket and demonstrates how simple it is to play. M/S of the man playing. Cut to M/S of the woman watching him play. High angle L/S of the man playing and woman watching. Voiceover talks about the advantages of the new table tennis game named “Smash“. M/S of the couple getting ready to play together. High angle shot of the couple playing. Another man carrying racket comes to play. He watches the couple play waiting for his turn.
