First Photographs of Machu Picchu (The Lost City of the Inca)

Howdy! Today we will look at the oldest photographs of Machu Picchu, attributed to Hiram Bingham III, who is also considered to be the man who “rediscovered” Machu Picchu, before excavating the site, and introducing it to the public. The photographs in today’s video are from Hiram’s first exploration of Machu Picchu, and can be considered the oldest photographs of Machu Picchu in existence. They are incredible, as well as being panoramic. We will briefly discuss the current narrative history of Machu Picchu as well as some interesting theories regarding the Lost City of the Inca. Enjoy!
