Duntisbourne Abbots is a village that forms part of the Cotswold District. The village is Saxon in origin. The Cotswolds, in general, were inhabited during the Roman occupation of Britain, and it’s plausible that there was a settlement in or around Duntisbourne Abbots during this period. Duntisbourne Abbots has a mix of Cotswold stone houses (some dating back to the 17th century). St Peter’s Church was built in the 12th century on the site of an earlier Saxon church.
